Ascribe Where flight became stalled Because fear stood its ground There- is where I- was reborn Where I relearned my reality As broken fragments of a self Where I’ve seen the unveilings Of time, truth, and Holy love Where angels cried and wept For my salvation and healing And I- wept along with them Where fire seared my mission Forged into my soul as passion A combatant for the wounded Of humanities silenced…truths Poet of the Light © 2023 I write meaningful (to me) poetry from my heart and share it here. Keeping a young mindset helps prolong it.

When my mother was around the age I am now, she told me that when she looked in the mirror, she didn’t recognize the old woman there, that she still felt as if she were sixteen. It took me a lot of years and living, but I finally understood what she meant. We all need to hold onto our unique inner self that is timeless if we nurture it.
“Me and You and a Dog Named Boo” takes me back to those carefree times that will never return no matter my mindset.
