Moment born

 Another day slipped away
 Sitting on a bench wasting
 Countdown tick-tock begun
 Changing time continues on
 Cleaning out all my closets
As well as my own daily life
 Piece by piece I’m dumping
 Things I don’t need anymore
 And things I never needed
 As well as broken promises
 I kept hoping would mend
To still come true, but can’t
 Meaningless words are ashes
Time to scale down to reality
Trim off all the excessive fat
 And those unwanted asses
Using me for a play thing
As if my life was only theirs
 Friends and family leeches
 Misnomers for the speaking
 Misusing me for dishonesty
 Wanting to drain limited life
 Pretending to really like you
So long as you remain fooled
Need to up my ride as well
 Prep it for someplace else
Pack it up a one day before
 Grab some rest leave notes
Then off for a life of hopes
 Desert, or mountain summit
 Maybe Oceanside landscape
Who knows, who can really say
 Maybe even an exotic country
But wherever it is, it needs to fit
Like a unique tailored made suit
I am who I am and will remain
Paths come and go like shadows
One is bound to be a yellow road
A week, a month or maybe a day
 Radically, just moving onward
I hear a call, and I feel my needs
To inhale it, taste it, feel its curves
To live love… in found moments

Hard way

I didn’t listen all that much as a child
“Don’t touch that” too late! painful lesson
That’s me, following my heart elsewhere
I knew I was edging over that threshold
Tempting fate, maybe foolishly even God
Against my inner voice, against all odds
I persisted, after all, that's how love works
I’d push until the world pushes me back
 It premeditates past humanized boundaries
Defies all the best of logic and reasonings
Comes on like a tsunami out of nowhere
On a clear blue skyline, then just, becomes
Love- my greatest of gambles and of losses
I should know, I have the scars to prove it
 Hey, what can I say, I’m human...and a poet

True to fault

Searching for a story without an end
My heart got caught up in a synopsis
I knew my role foretold a pending hell
Being a messenger...instead of the hero

I’m sorry, so very sorry
I couldn’t be all those things
You wanted me to be, and still be me
Can you really look me in eyes;
And tell me you’re surprised?
Know it hurts me just as painfully
Even to think that I somehow
I’ve let you down, in both our minds
I’m sorry, so very sorry
But my heart can’t forgive
You wanting someone else
And still expecting me to hang around
Just in case you change your mind
I’m still breaking down inside
No- I’m sorry, so very sorry
I can’t live up to your dark expectation
My heart won’t let that happen
And over time this pain might subside
But I won't change my mind
Baby- this is goodbye
I’m sorry, so very sorry
Of how love needs to be...for me

Selective matter

Oh- those happenstance meetings
Akin, how scraped paper does float
Landing most abruptly place to place
Sometimes only but for a moment
Others, seemingly more indefinitely
Ever subject to unseen changing winds
And merciless unpredictable weather
We skid, slid, bounce and smash into
The ruins of shattered broken things
Tossed away when no longer palatable
We epitomize those roles- as people
Like beloved paper hearts, disowned
Ripped out from love's used booklet
Tumbling blind into multiple of lives
In remote or other exotic destinations
Sometimes we go unnoticed and still
Others, we’re centric of their crises
Swept up against some preverbal fence
Someway we mesh, near seamlessly
Forgetting we’re still used paper hearts
As if somehow we’d always been there
Amidst a dark background of silence
Caught up on some bits and fragments
But of someones else's broken pieces
Hearts, dreams or within turbulence
Suddenly you’ve come front and center
As your unwantedness eases away
You’re feeling that renewed worth
And that comfortableness starts to fit
Forgetting still our own vulnerability
And our former past life of events
We laugh and embrace the sun rays
Enjoy those brief scattered showers
The pleasing scent of spring flowers
Life- has never felt like such a blessing
And just like that, we’re uprooted
Cruel reminds of our ended season
Time has past as we were oblivious
And now we’re back traversing again
To those former roles as, paper hearts
Unneeded, tumbling while...withering

I could unwantonly reside without you
If that is the tomorrow I’m bequeathed
Though it would be most bleak, at best
I’d refuse acceptance of the cold ambiance
Know darkness could never replace you
Nor could it ever become my friend
We’d be more like armistice adversaries
Coexisting only for the sake of silence
My sanity would surely be overly taxed
My heart- withering in desolate winds
Not even the Ravens would dare visit
Out of fear of getting lost in my madness
A man, an island to himself...still in love

Natural selection

I’m trying to hold on
But these winds are so strong
I hope you can protect me
They say it's all an illusion
But they’re not listening
I’m falling
Oh no-
Cynical reactions
Never could save anyone
I’m at mercy of the breeze
Help me
It looks frightening
This giant mirror below
On this water, I’m alone
Current situations bleak
My life tree lost me
I’m floating too fast
I’m soaked
Rolling beneath the surface
Ripples are now churning
I can’t hear myself think
It's almost over
One final plunge
The underworld is ugly

Subdued scars

Scarlet laced indigo color skies
Reminding me of our time
When fire burned in your eyes
And I was your reasons why

Seasonal snowflakes falling
As I walk along a cold waterside
Of what was once our paradise
Before your passion for me- died

Sleepless nights, our lost legacy
Leaving me to question everything
You’ve ever said to me
Since I realized, baby- you lied

Now he listens to every word of you
And the sun leaves in a silent betrayal...too

Spinning wheels

A thousand why’s
Run through my mind
It's a storm I can’t control
I know, even if I tried

I step back from the picture
Trying to understand better
But all I find are more questions
And never any real answers

Why oh why- like a song
Confusion goes on
I want to run to nowhere
But nowhere is already right here

I hear you talking
But I no longer understand
Its as if, I heard the same thing
Far too many times to listen

You never seem to hear me
I see your eyes rolling
So I roll mine and shake my head
This just ain’t right, no more

This is a paradise for the insane
And I no longer want to remain
So don’t be a fool
And ask me, why oh why, baby

You drove me crazy
Now you’re driving me away
And all I can feel now is
I’m happy and...I’m free
