Every so often

I dust off memories- of us

As sentimental as it seems

A part of me- still lives there

In the reflection of your eyes

Whispers of your thoughts

Silkiness of your warm skin

Soft breathes over your lips

When living love was happening

But all these years later, I still miss

The gift of your gentle embrace

That gave me peace and value

Giving my heart its own purpose

Until I had to live… without you

Losing someone who meant the world to you is so difficult. But life gives you no other option but to keep going.

Dusting off the memories is a good way of putting it.

Btw, I read your comment on my now deleted post. I’m not at all offended. I usually try to put some kind of positive/humorous/creative spin, even on rants, and I just couldn’t manage it that post which is part of why it’s now deleted. Anyway, appreciate your thoughts, I’m not offended and not blocking or unfollowing you. Just took a WP break of sorts and am catching up on posts.
