Murmurs of the heart

I trust that it goes without saying

How deeply and terribly I miss you

Like life, the weather keeps changing

But truthfully, I don’t feel as lucky

In fact, I’ve lost my trivial routines

That served as some sense of balance

In such times lessor than present days

Occasionally I make halfhearted attempts

Of getting back in step- with living me

But even my missteps feel out of place

And at a loss for a real sense of direction

I daydream of you long enough to smile

Grief and unnuanced dress the same now

I’m unsure if that signifies any… progress
