I walked upon dried-out furls

Of tangerine and marmalade

They crunched like rusty cans

Morning dew had dissipated

With a refractory of moist fog

Surrounded by stalks of greys

Their brave ghostly shadows

Step by step I broke a silence

As I secretly maintained mine

All your little-known nuances

That made you-you and special

Forever my forethoughts will be

Memories of the life we’ve shared

Never accepting our love…diverged
