Blankets

I rise daily to your absence

And pretend it’s a good start

Sometimes I feel your presence

I’ve learned to hide my hurt

My entire world has shifted

Jovial laughters are shallower

My present thoughts diverting

Casual conversations shorter

Bliss in life became indifferent

Motivation to chase has waned

But I still dream of betterment

Long walks on sleepless streets

Open meaningful conversations

So, I can lay down…my sadness
