Fault lines

Photo by Janko Ferlic on Pexels.com

When an ocean freezes over

Snow falls upon its surface

And all reflection are muted

When that one assuring voice

Has fatally faded into quiet

When all your rising dawns

Have suddenly fallen dark

And the only light you have

Glistens off your own teardrops

While you falter in your steps

Off the trail of survivorship

You won’t beg anyone to listen

While denying you’re alone

To the world…but not yourself
