When I was but a youngster

Bright lights became a target

To become rich or prominent

But as I lived and experienced

Objectives had often changed

And over the fails and trails

Hurdles or bloody dead ends

Bright lights changed as well

In definition and perspective

As I discovered them to mean

Divine stars or twinkling eyes

That naturally moves my heart

Today I’m grateful to being me

Brighter, older… an unknown poet

  1. Beautifully written as the glitter and shiny things of the world has a pull on us, causing us to believe it holds so much treasure. When we’re older just to be unencumbered with peace is enough. Blessings.
