Abstraction

I’m one mortal masterpiece

Life made from chaos and me

Pieces of my broken dreams

And fallen cloudy tear drops

I seeped deep into the darkest

Until I became a mosaic mess

Knifed by time into life’s fabric

From my palate of raw emotions

Miscoloring my newest essence

Redefining all my tinted values

Left out in the hot sun exposure

Brushed dry in wrong directions

I’m framed inside of life’s reality

Hung up for world to…evaluate

  1. This was a new twist, as instead of scripture that often comes to mind, this poem did. I absolutely love the way your mind works! A myriad of emotions flood my mind with many of your poems. What a gift. Many Blessings.

    My life is but a weaving
    Between my God and me.
    I cannot choose the colors
    He weaveth steadily.
    Oft’ times He weaveth sorrow;
    And I in foolish pride
    Forget He sees the upper
    And I the underside.
    Not ’til the loom is silent
    And the shuttles cease to fly
    Will God unroll the canvas
    And reveal the reason why.
    The dark threads are as needful
    In the weaver’s skillful hand
    As the threads of gold and silver
    In the pattern He has planned
    He knows, He loves, He cares;
    Nothing this truth can dim.
    He gives the very best to those
    Who leave the choice to Him.
