Entrenched

Some new towns have an eerie presence

I hear thunder on the horizonal fringe

Just enough to captures my attention

Lightning plays hide and seek in clouds

Or maybe, it’s playing tag with life itself

Like when moon watched us insouciantly

Maybe to hide its insecure bit of jealousy

Miry waters rush along the canal banks

I envision our first time at skinny dipping

We were modest at first but quicken braver

Wildflowers dancing in invisible whispers

I stroll aside untangled ripples and memories

Every step forward takes me back there, to us

And stranger places…feel a bit more familiar
