Dilution

I feel a shadowy like presence

Swirling about daily moments

It creeps in on time gone awry

Cleverly hiding in open view

Or in corners of rolling eyelids

A conscious choice of avoidance

Frowns that overtakes cold silence

Words that do cut us the deepest

For us that understand- depths

It brings an unmatched affliction

Through decay of love and effort

Like abandon flowers, or values

Stealing morsels of self-worth

Until living becomes… withering
