Paucity

Not all my strolls are so selfish

Times come when I’m purposeful

In my more charitable moments

Here- along this sandy seashore

I weep for ignored rocks laid bare

Tormented by unrelenting waves

The salt- sun and even the dark

How well I empathize with them

They are mirrors of my own days

Beset where they broke in place

Abandoned by time and a belove

By now, has forgotten my name

And like these jagged hardened rocks

Love like mine can… never change

.
