Armistice

Long after intoxication came

I found at odd times: I’m at war

With my own renegade feelings

Seeking to undermine all logic

In all matters- concerning love

They ignored those tell tale signs

Racing head-on into a love tragic

And like an addict craving more

Even after fresh scars are healing

They thought triage was pure evidence

Of how far one must go, to be got

Until love is found within oneself

And learn conflict is far too costly

Self-sabotage is never called…love
